She has been fortunate to represent both individuals and businesses of all sizes, including both Fortune 500 companies and small businesses, in various legal matters. She leverages her corporate law training to make affordable, high quality legal services accessible to everyday people and small businesses.
In 1996, she graduated magna cum laude from Spelman College. In 2004, she received her Juris Doctorate degree—magna cum laude—from Texas Southern University, Thurgood Marshall School of Law. Prior to that, she was an Oil and Gas associate attorney for Thompson & Knight, LLP, the refining and petrochemical division of the fourth largest integrated oil and gas company in the world. Growing up in Baytown, Texas, she spent many hours at the local restaurant owned by her grandfather. At an early age, she learned about the hard work required to run a small business and the obstacles faced by small business owners. As an attorney and a mother, Lakesha also understands the legal needs of families. She is passionate about working with business owners and families to implement a plan that will create a legacy for their families. She believes in educating her clients about their legal issues and helping them become confident in their business and estate-planning goals.
Lakesha is active in the legal community and is committed to pro bono work. She is also deeply rooted in her community. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Lee College Alliance and the Monica Boyd Literacy Foundation. She also serves as First Vice President and Membership Chair of the Baytown Chapter of Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc. and she is a leader of the youth ministry at her church.
